It seems folks have gone from 'mismatch' to actually Canelo winning it.

Personally I just feel Golovkin is not as good as people reckon - but the equaliser is that he is still very decent, but has been largely un-motivated of late.

Perhaps he comes out and gives it 100% and destroys canelo.

But rumours from Big Bear sparring is Canelo boxed his head off a few years ago.

It seems strange that there seems to have been such a big swing to me.  GGG did take a shot or two off Brook and didn't set the world on fire against Jacobs.  But equally, Canelo's last three opponents have been Chaves Jr, Liam Smith and Khan, of which there is nothing for me to get over excited about.

Given the absolute debacle that was Floyd v Manny, I just hope that the fight lives up to the billing and justifies the wait and posturing that we've had to endure to get to this point.

Seems to be conflicting reports on that. Dougie Fischer watched them spar at Big Bear and Golovkin got the better of Canelo. Lamar Russ recalls that Golovkin got the better of the exchanges, too.

I would expect GGG to get the better of Canelo in sparring tbh. Entirely different ball game when they meet for real though.

If that was true then how do you justify Canelo running like a bitch for the last 3 years? It doesn't add up.

His bank balance is all the justification he needs. The guys made a fortune taking highly winnable fights.

I think he's been guilty of being a bit of a yes man to his promoter.

I honestly think the will be easy for canelo.

He's fighting someone who i would say is limited at the twilight of his career.

People point to the gingers last few fights....

Im happy to discuss GGG's  36 previous to Spence..

He has been top dog in a shit division and Canelo will eat him up

Canelo weight was a God awful division though and, Floyd aside, Light-Middle wasn't up to much either.

i read a detailed peice a little while ago where it was claimed ggg hurt canelo a couple times and had to take it easy with him. They were at different stages in fight camps though.

Maybe my memory of who did what is jaded... i dont think i read that it was completely one-sided though.

Looks like the indication is that this fight will be PPV over here. Don't really see it having the cross over appeal to do big numbers though.

Eddie Hearn will do some kind of UK "double-up" to entice people to purchase PPV. I agree that GGG Vs Canelo in the middle of the night alone won't be enough for the casual fans in the UK market, but doubled up with a Degale or someone fighting somebody half-decent would probably do the trick

I had always thought GGG would win this, but I believe that Canelo is fighting GGG at the right time...GGG has started to look his age, and unless he can KO Caenlo, Canelo will win this on points quite comfortably...he's simply too clinical and sharp for GGG at this point in their respective careers
