Personally I cant see Yarde taking it. He's not had a real test yet that would pave the way for Kov.

I can see it being reminiscent of when Kell Brook was sat at the top of the WBO rankings for an age when Pacquiao was the champion whilst still being buried on undercards.  He'll sit in the position talking the talk but it will come to nothing.  Kovalev is a million miles away from anyone Yarde has fought to date and I can't see it ending well for him even with Kovalev not being the fighter he was.  He needs to get past a test like a Barrera or Pascal before he even thinks about getting in with any of the top guys in the division.

Not sure what it is about Yarde but there must be a reason they haven't even given him a half decent test yet

Two years ago I thought he’d fight for a world title for sure but he hasn’t moved on at all.

He might do a Brook and cash his chips on Kolalev as it doesn’t look like Uncle Frank is doing anything for his career.
