Matt Damon Bourne for sequel

The actor - who has already starred as amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne in three movies - claims film studio Universal Pictures constantly begs him to reprise his role in the blockbusting series.

He revealed: "Even if we made a horrible movie, it would make money, and the studio knows that. There's a huge amount of pressure. But it's not like somebody's hammering at our door. It's just that they would love to make another Bourne movie, and I understand why.

"It's so hard to have a sure thing in Hollywood, and this is as close as you get. So, from an executive's standpoint, I get it."

Matt is also keen to add another film to the series, but only if the storyline is right.

He explained to Empire.com: "Our job, on the creative side, is to make sure that we create something that's of a standard. And this one's really tricky: you can't see the guy saying 'I don't remember' any more, because he's lost and regained his memory three times already!

"And he's not like Bond, who goes on individual missions. I mean, you could make Bond movies forever, because you'd start each film at the beginning of a new mission. But Bourne isn't built that way, unfortunately.

"It's a tricky one, trying to figure out a way, organically, to have a fourth story. But we want to do it."

Nicolas Cage quits Green

The Hollywood actor has confirmed he will not star alongside Cameron Diaz and Seth Rogen in the comedy crime movie following months of speculation he would be portraying the villain Mr. X.

The Hollywood Reporter claim: "The actor and the studio were not able to come to terms on a deal."

Movie bosses are now struggling to find a replacement because filming is well underway with a planned release in June next year.

Last month, Cameron accepted the role of Lenore 'Casey' Case, a tenacious reporter romantically involved with masked crime fighter Britt Reid - played by funnyman Seth.

The blonde beauty said: "I'm in. I am making Michel Gondry's movie and I am very, very excited about it. "Seth and Michel are awesome. We're having a really great time."

Cameron also revealed her character Casey - traditionally a sexy secretary - has been given an "extreme makeover".

She explained: "She'll have her own little differences. I'm going with Michel, because this is Michel's movie and Seth's movie. So, I'm playing the character that they wrote for us."

This is where it's all about money. The franchise ended with the third. Why don't the greedy execs let it go and make another film to make money.

Matt Damon is obviously only willing to do it of it's not shit but who knows. The producers might just replace him if he doesn't agree.

Good thread. A film i've been looking forward to for a while is Stallone's The Expendables. The cast in this film is probably the best i've see. If only Van Damme had accepted a part aswell. Lets just hope the film lives up to the cast.

But that would defeat the purpose, it would be no use without Matt Damon, he is Bourne. It wouldn't be a hit if he wasn't in the main role. The Bourne movies are great, I'd love to see another too but I agree that they shouldn't do one just for the sake of it, they'd have to do it right.

I agree with Law Abiding Citizen. I hadn't heard much about it so wasn't expecting much but turned out to be one of the best films i've seen in a while. Watched Kick Ass the other day and although i enjoyed it, it wasn't what i was expecting. Thought it was a comedy but it was pretty serious for most of it. Great fight scenes aswell.
