Only if you rate Stefan Klos as Scot. When were the Scots the last time world chamion and Olympic gold medalists? : In Light-Heavyweight and Middeweight are the best Germans certainly better than the Brit ones.

Would that be the same Middleweight class that Ted 'Kid' Lewis, Jock McAvoy, Kevin Finnigan, Alan Minter and Herol Graham fought in? Abraham has a very long way to go to even get near being compared to Lewis.

I don't know what class your Middleweight is: Ted Lewis was a Welterweight for me (and Graham achieved the most of his career in Light-Middleweight).

Both won British Middleweight titles though. And given what Lewis did in his career he will always own Abraham every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

British titles means nothing; Vincenzo Cantadore was Italian champion in the Heavyweight but Zejlko Mavrovic dominated him. Lewis started his career in the Lighweight and Abraham would weight at least 10 Kg more than him. He lost against some journeymen in the Middleweight and never fought against the world peak in this division. A robust world champion as Arthur Abraham would have been able to stop him inside 5 rounds. He also has a much bigger achievement in Middeweight (11 successful world championships, 7 by knockout). Ted Lewis wouldn't had been competitive.

Lewis won his first title at Featherweight, not Lightweight. Abraham is a decent fighter, but lets face it - he never faced the best at Middleweight. Lewis is a man who could live with anyone in any era. He fought in every division in boxing during his time. I consider that most knowledgeable people would have Lewis in their best 50 fighters of all time easily. Abraham is not in that league at all.

From Featherweight is the difference even bigger and more difficult to match against a natural middleweight. Abraham fought in Middleweight better opposition than Lewis it did and was never in trouble. Pound for pound has Ted Lewis more achieved and is possibly better, but Arthur Abraham would have been massive heavier (2 divions) and has a lot more punching-power than any of Lewis' opponents: Rubin Carter have stopped the Welterweight legend Emile Griffith in the first round after 3 knockdowns. If you claim Lewis would win against the top-middleweights (which one of it Abraham is, without a doubt), because he was British champion in Middleweight, then I let know that Wayne Elcock was it too when he was destroyed by Arthur Abraham. Maybe had Ted Lewis better skills than Arthur Abraham, but whos physical too strong for him in my opinion. By the way based my list not only on the abilities, but also on the achievement.

They can't be worse than the English goalkeepers.

Abraham is Armenian.
And Michalczewski is Polish. Apart from that, another brilliant list.

No Oktay Urkal is born in Berlin-Kreuzberg (his nickname is "Ali vom Kreuzberg") and lives his whole life in Germany. He also won Olympic Silver in Atlanta 1996 for Germany (in opposite to Lennox Lewis). Arthur Abraham live since 1995 in Germany, has a German passport and speak German (better than Vitaly Klitschko). If you mention that, then I can claim Hamed is from Yemen, Lewis from Canada and Khan from Iran (as well Takaloo).

I've got an Irish passport. Doesn't make me Irish.
