Your right Jim in your comments about heritage.

But that said, i know of Asian guys in the gym that don't rate him for the fact he is a cherry picker, with no chin.

Frankly some are a bit embarrassed by his comments.

Yeah I understand that aswell. He can be abit of a tool and perhaps brings some of the stick on himself with his recent comments. I'm also not saying you have to be asian to have a genuine opinion on Khan that isnt all positive, this is more to do with media hysteria than anything else imo.

I don't like Khan becasue he is a big headed loud mouthed fool who beleives his own hype and has proven nothing so far.  I do not think of him as being a Muslim as I really cannot stand that even being mentioned in the same sentance as sport, there is no room for religion at all (in sport).  I do not like him because he is whatever colour or creed i simply do not like him anymore.  I used to and i wish i still could but until he shows us something to be proud of he can go and jump.

The major downfall of it all is MR ******. Degale is heading the same way, he is (******)turning them into little Football style idiots with too much money too soon and then they think their god's gift!

Khan is a right tool!! Like a few have said in this topic already recently I had given Khan a clean slate and thought both in the ring and outside it in interviews etc he was coming across a lot better. But this article is just back to his worst side, showing he doesn't have a clue what hes on about!

The amusing thing about this is that when everyone reads this pile of turd and turns on him even more, you will get the sames old mugs quoting hat people only hate him because he is Asian. ha ha ha ha.

It's beyond belief that narrow minded people honestly believe he's hated due to his skin, he is hated because he is an arrogant mug!!

If that's the case thier should be alot more hatred in professional sport, loads of sportsmen and women are arrogant (or confident) to a much higher degree than Khan. There are also alot of people who have taken alot from professional sport and given very little back unlike Amir Khan. If you want to believe that none of the hatred expressed towards Khan is down to race/religion then i think you are the narrow minded one.
Compared to many, many other sportsmen and women he is not at all arrogant. From the interviews i have seen (not read) he always comes accross as a decent and grounded young guy, lets not forget none of this would have come up if another professional boxer (who could give lectures in arrogance if you really want to analyse it) hadn't felt the need to slag Khan off. He defended himself and nothing more.

He's built commnity centres and a gym for the kids in Bolton and he does loads of charity work. He doesn't need to do any of this regardless of his promoters putting him on ppv.

I personally dont like Khan because he's thick as pigs**t and every time he opens his mouth he does it to himself.  Some people know when to shut their mouths, and some dont.  Khan is one of those that does'nt.  I heard a radio interview he gave about women's boxing a while back (it was on BBC website).  He contradicted himself so many times and the interviewer just basically destroyed him on the spot.  No, I'll rephrase that, Khan destroyed himself and the last bit of respect I had for him was dusted.  The man just cant give a decent interview without stepping in some s**t.  That's just how he is.  That's why he'll never be loved.  He could probably do himself and his image a massive favour by just keeping it shut.  And as for the hard-on he's got for Froch, he just wont let that go, another reason to not like him. He really is like a kid, he needs to mature fast.

Having said that, Carl is not perfect either in the image stakes.  I've seen a thread on here which discusses why he is'nt yet a household name and does'nt get the props he deserves.  I think the general opinion of why that is was because of lack of quality marketing and promotion. I do think thats a small part of it, but I have a different theory, so here goes:

It's his image.  People who are highly opinionated are either people you love, or hate.  Every time Carl gets interviewed, he airs a strong opinion about SOMEthing.  For that, I love him, but then I am going to say that because I'm from the same area of Nottingham (Carlton) so I'm going to love him come what may, no matter what he says.  People from other parts of the country dont have that local link, so Carl could flex a strong opinion about something, and if Mr X from Liverpool, or Mr Y from Suffolk does'nt agree, then straight away he's lost X and Y's respect or just wont get it to begin with.  This is the problem when trying to market someone who airs strong opinions.  It's either something you hate about someone, or a reason to love them for.  So straight away you've only got a 50/50 chance of getting your love from people.

And it's not just the fact that he airs strong opinions, its the way he does it.  I present Brian Clough as an example, another opinionated man.  Clough often mixed up his strong opinions with an entertaining delivery, to the point where after he's said something, you dont know whether he was being serious or just joking.  He played to the media and he played to the man in the street and mixed it all up with a bit of humour.  If he had expressed those same opinions with a dead pan delivery, I'm willing to bet that he wouldnt have been half as loved as he was.

Carl is dead pan with the delivery of his opinions, so straight away he's giving people a reason not to like him, to think that he's arrogant, when I know for a fact he's not.  Again, like Khan, it's just the way he is.

If either boxer wants to be trully loved by the British public across the board, they both have a long way to go in terms of how their image is portrayed and marketed.  In Khan's case, it's probably just better if he keeps his mouth closed at all times until his intellect and maturity catch up with each other and connect.

Sorry for the massive post, but I had to get this out there as it's something thats been on my mind for a long time.

While i'm not a fan of Froch, he at least can still say he didn't get KO'd in his first defeat.
