Without a doubt Tyson.  He could have dominated the division for over a decade.  Instead, he dominated it for a couple of years and started to party instead.

Even way past his prime, without the hunger or passion, he still came back to win world titles after his stint in jail.  Instead of going down in history for being one of the best fighters of all time, he goes down as one of the best in his prime but mainly for being a freak show.

Tyson. He should have stayed unbeaten until at least 2000 had he trained and kept his eye on the ball. He'd have only lost when he started to slow down.

In a way he didn't waste any of his talent but I would say he is the biggest talent the heavyweight pro ranks never saw.

Riddick Bowe was a good fighter but his career should have been more if he had the balls to fight Lewis instead of throwing that WBC belt in the bin.

No his career would have ended with Lewis giving him a Ruddock style hiding.

I agree Lewis would have beat him but Bowe still was good enough to beat some of the other Champions of his era.

Bowe would have eaten the Lewis who got offslapped by McCall.

Good thread, Gul.

I agree with the majority and will go with Tyson.

He possibly spent his peak years behind bars. He fought for the world title while suffering from gonorrhea for F*ck sake! He just didn't know how to behave himself. Who knows how much better he could've been.

Ibeabuchi is another one who F***ed it up. He was well on his way to securing a fight with Lennox Lewis. He could've featured in some big money fights but now he's probably in some padded cell smothering himself in marmite and crackin' one off!

Maxy Baer is another one who could've left a stronger legacy behind had he taken the sport more seriously.

I also agree with the person who mentioned Riddick Bowe. I think some people have forgotten how he good he was. He was a very talented fighter. Just a shame he had to hit the Bargain Bucket so hard at KFC  Grin

No chance. Lewis HATED Bowe and would have been so highly motivated, he'd have murdered hum.

You know what I find sad?...That us lot have to debate this without ever knowing the answer. We should've got to see that fight. That would've been big. C'est La Vie...

Still, we can't blame Lennox. We can all recall Bowe going through extremes to get out of that fight what with publicly binning the WBC strap!
