For me, the fight that stands head and shoulders above the rest over the last decade:

- Trinidad Vs Hopkins at The Garden Sept 2001. Location location location

Two other fights that spring to mind:

- De La Hoya Vs Mosley at the Staples Centre, June 2000. Had everything every Superfight should have.

- Trinidad Vs Vargas at the Mandalay Bay, Dec 2000. Had everything every Superfight should have, and more. Undefeated records, knockdowns...To have seen any Tito Trinidad fight in his prime would've been great.

i may be mistaken but was Trinidad-Hopkins the 1 shortly after 9/11 where Trinidad came to the ring wearin the firemans helmet as a tribute?

Yep. King postponed in for a couple of weeks after 9/11. Nothing against Tito, he was one of my favourites. But watching the big favourite get beat up for 11 rds and KO'd in the last by a sickening right hand in front of his own fans who'd been something special.

I'll never forget Watt doubting Hatton before the fight and his reservations in the commentary during the ringwalk were untypically negative  Shocked, at least he recognised how special the performance was and what a night for British boxing it turned out to be.

Best fight Iv'e attended by a country mile, I was literally wired from the moment I entered the MEN until we left the arena totally exhilarated and it was all natural adrenaline, the best kind of buzz.

The right time, the right venue and the right combatants for a genuine slice of history.

Only Hatton could have provided that.
