"ITV look set to screen Amir Khan's US debut against Paulie Malignaggi at New York's Madison Square Garden on May 15."

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more-sport/boxing/2010/03/16/khan-looks-hit-for-itv-115875-22114295/

The deal hasn't been signed yet, but ITV appear to be favourites...

This is excellent news for Boxing if it comes off!  Has the contract with Sky Box Office expired? Was the contract between all parties ******, Khan and SBO?  If there is money to made from this fight then i would expect someone other than ITV to increase their bid.  Maybe ****** has an input into what the SBO contract allowed?

if u asked any of my family other than my bro they would all know who kahn is and not who froch is

kahn is a household name due to his itv stint at the start of his carreer

Not being funny, but Froch Kessler at 10pm would be far better draw...

I dont know about being a better draw.  As someone said Khan is a bigger name, due to the way he has been promoted.

I agree though that the Kessler Froch fight, is going to be a better fight.  Its all down to Hennesey though,  he needs to speculate to accumalate with Froch.  He needs to take a low price to get a Froch fight on TV,  then when the publics imagination has been caught, then you will see the TV offers flood in.

Brilliant news, i was convinced this would be sky PPV thank god it isnt cuz it will be a cracking fight imo.

Lets just hope ITV advertise it well as they havnt had any boxing on for ages.

Lets also hope it is a good fight and promotes boxing and isnt a stinker.

Great news if it happens. The sport desperatly needs terrestrial coverage. Just wish the rest would get their fingers out and start televising more!

Froch-Kessler would be a good start  Wink

They could build the fight up great with Paulie and his mouth, it would get more of the general public to watch the fight

Wow - if that is true, and being that the fight is staged in New York .... that must really get on frochs nerves.
