sorry, it was the 3rd.

katsidis just swamped him with the pressure. mitchell looked good and arguably won the first 2. micthell needed to get back to boxing after beign caught the first couple of times. he just couldnt help going wrrior style on it

Marquez-Katsidis is a great fight and a guaranteed knockout.I doubt Marquez will be interested though.

no way marquez wants it. isnt he meant to be fighting diaz again? not that i see any point in that or that diaz deserves it

mitchell just couldn't cope with katsidis's power. Hope he can rebuild and come back from this.

Pity about the result. I thought this would happen tonight and had Katsidis to win in round 2. Kevin can come back again though.

Anyone know how Danny Williams and Ricky Burns got on tonight?

Mitchell should of taken a knee when he was hurt.  You cant blame him for doing so, but I think an experienced fighter would of done so.

I apologise I've never seen Marquez fight before at lightweight, but Juan Diaz has gone up in my estimation after knowing he went 12 big rounds with Katsidis.

No,it's a pretty pointless rematch. They're just looking to give Marquez an easy exist with a couple a nice payday's to go with it.

Shame really.I'd still favour Marquez over Katsidis, but Katsidis deserves his shot.

I agree, also perhaps slightly premature stoppage? Maybe a standing 8 count? EIther way I predicted a kastidis win and early ko, as per with ******'s fighters, the likes of Carl Johanson are not sufficient warm up for the more elite fighters when they get the world title chance.

definitely. if he kept his cool a little better i think he could have just about weathered the storm.

and @ dallykint - IMO marquez is never gonna fight katsidis and should just say now and let katsidis hold the full title. a katsidis rematch with diaz that he might win this time is fair
