iq jammi not seen that before.

100-2 for khan is pretty impressive must have only lost 1 fight before his loss to kindelan in the olympic final, his style is pretty well suited to the amatuer game though.

The story varies, Boxrec have him as 85-1, others claim he had 89 amateur fights, winning all but 'a few' of them

I have Randolph Turpin - 96-5
Fernando Vargas - 100 - 5
Ike Quartey 50-4
Aaron Pryor 204-16
Calos Quintana 46-4
Zab Judah 100-5
Vernon Forest 225-15
Meldrick Taylor 99-4

All world champions, not a bad record them.

Anyone got Chris Finnegans amateur record, found it near impossible to find.

One of the most impressive amateurs for me, was Kostya Tszyu. 259-11 is what many sites claim, with golds at many shows including the Sydney Olympics... but most of his wins came by KO !

His win over Vernon Forrest, a much taller opponent was pretty text book. Its on youtube.

tszyu never won an olympic medal. remarkable amatuer career though.

I think its a typo mate

I think Red means the Worlds which were held in Sydney in '90 or '91

Donald Curry had a great amateur career. He probably would have won a gold medal if not for the boycott of the Moscow games.

Just watched Tszyu-Forrest... Impressive!!! Thanks for that Red  Wink

Looked brilliant didn't he?

Johnny Lewis really limited him as a fighter.

Ray Robinson never lost.

Boxrec and a few other sources disagree  Wink

Nobody bar the individual can ever give you the truth of those types of records from fighters so far back in history, urban myths and poetic license often cloud the truth over such long periods of time
