Enzo Maccarinelli : Maybe I will have another crack

20.09.10

Enzo Maccarinelli has left the future of his boxing career seemingly in the hands of his devoted wife, following the shocking KO loss to German-based Ukranian, Alexander Frenkel at the weekend.

"Maybe I'll have an other crack," he told BBC sport, a comment likely to panic boxing fans who feel 'Big Macc' should call it a day.

"..But I'll to speak to my wife." he added.

The Welshman has lost 4 of his last 8 bouts, all by brutal stoppage, starting with his unification fight with David Haye back in 2008. A stoppage to Ola Afolabi, a brutal beating by Denis Ledebev followed.

Enzo somehow managed to gain a shot against Alexander Kotlobay for the vacant European title, which he won in a single round in Russia.

But Saturday saw Enzo struck with a left-handed missle in the 7th round which flattened Enzo and robbed him of his senses.

Many felt the referee was appalling for allowing the stumbling Enzo to continue, after somehow rising to his feet. The Swansea was decked for good just seconds later, to the panic of those watching on.

Afterwards Warren commented that it was a shame that Enzo lost in such a manner, given his contribution to the sport and has since hinted that he may help Enzo find other work within his organisation, possibly in promoting.

But the fighter, one of 10 world champions to come from Wales, is currently mulling over whether he has a future in competing rather than promoting.

"I'm disappointed. I'll also have a chat with Frank and see where we go from there. But I've had a good career and I'm proud of it." concluded Enzo afterwards.
