Martinez wants Burns rematch

Rocky Martinez

WBO super-featherweight champion Ricky Burns is being targeted by former victim Roman Martinez.

Burns snatched the title form the Puerto Rican in dramatic style in September with a hard-fought points win.

He makes the second defence of his belt against Joseph Laryea at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow, on Saturday night.

But he could be on a collision course with hard-hitting Martinez, the former world number one.

"After (my April fight) I will go for Burns," said Martinez. "It would be August or September, here in Puerto Rico. I want to recover what was lost."

Burns, who has already made a successful defence of his belt against Andreas Evensen, was prepared to travel to the Caribbean last year to take on Martinez.

"I've beaten him once and I'll beat him again," said the champion.
