HBO boxing provided plenty of thrills and spills last night as the mouthwatering shoot-out between James Kirkland and Alfredo Angulo lived up to the hype.

Kirkland shot down the tough-as-nails Angulo in the sixth round, but their opening seesaw has to be seen to be believed.

Kirkland improves to 30-1 (27ko) whilst 'El Perro' slips to 20-2 (17ko).

The Texan captured the WBC Continental Americas light middleweight title, setting himself up with another potential classic against unbeaten Saul Alvarez sometime in the future.
