Pavlik should forget Carl Froch

Following the demolition of Lucian Bute at the hands of Carl Froch last weekend, Kelly Pavlik has begun banging the drum for a fight with the Nottingham man.
Pavlik, who famously withdrew from an agreed bout with Bute laughably claim's he would knock Carl Froch out. The Youngstown fighter went the distance with club-fighter Alfonso Lopez in a tedious performance at the end of last year.
"I’ll beat him. He beat Lucian Bute, but he’s known for not having a good chin. Let’s do it, as long as you get HBO or Showtime." said Pavlik to ES NEWS.
Pavlik caused controversy when he withdrew from a tune-up against a club level southpaw journeyman a year or so ago - and also announced he would not be fight Lucian Bute either, before surfacing in Oxnard to begin training with Robert Garcia amidst alcohol and rehab stories.
The reference to the big TV is either arrogant or delusional for a fighter that has a non-televised bout with another club fighter in Scott Sigmon pencilled in for next weekend, which likely be another dreary affair if his recent form has been anything to go by.
Pavlik needs to stop dining out on his sole impressive performance against Jermain Taylor nearly five years ago and remember the routing he had at the hands of Bernard Hopkins and Sergio Martinez.
In short, fight your way into the bout and don't expect a meal ticket - because you don't deserve one.
