Pacquiao advisor Koncz apologies to Photographer

Michael Koncz, the adviser to Manny Pacquiao has issued an apology via Ring TV to Getty Images photographer Al Bello, who accused him and trainer Buboy of attacking him following the boxer's knockout loss last weekend in Las Vegas.

"There was a misunderstanding," Koncz told RingTV. "And if it was construed any other way, then he has my sincerest apology."

"I think in the heat of concern for Manny's health and safety at that moment, there was a misunderstanding between the cameraman, myself and Buboy," he added.

"So on behalf of Buboy and myself, we apologize for any inconvenience that it may have caused to the cameraman."

Bello told Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports that he jumped off the ring apron in order to avoid an assault by both Koncz and Buboy who got lost their temper when he tried taking pictures of Pacquiao on the canvas.

"Had I not gotten off the ring, I have no doubted the two of them would have beaten the s**t out of me and I might have been seriously hurt," Bello said.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission's director Keith Kizer also said that Team Pacquiao were more than happy to let photographers in to take shots of Ricky Hatton after he was knocked out. They also urged Bello to make a formal police complaint.

Meanwhile back in the Phillipines the journalist association labelled the incident as:

"Such boorish action by the members of Team Pacquiao, no matter how distraught they were by his loss, is inexcusable."

"Pacquiao should take action against these two, whose boorish and unsportsmanlike reaction to the loss can only tarnish the reputation for sportsmanship that has endeared him to millions of fans."
