Doctors call time on Katsidis career

Popular Aussie warrior Michael Katsidis has announced that a failed medical has urged him to retire promptly from boxing for good, he has revealed on his facebook fan page.

"I have got a story to tell and I will be telling it, but right now I need to talk with my family, management as well as medical staff." Katsidis said on Facebook upon hearing the shattering medical news.

Manager Glen Murray, told Australian press that the fighter intends to tell the fans what the news is, at the Feb 21st promotion which will still proceed, following his withdrawal.

"We got the first round of reports last Friday, it was extremely emotional and yes, grown men were crying. It's fair to say he's out of his fight on February 21, he's out of fighting indefinitely.

"Right today they are still doing second opinions on some medical reports, so we are not in a position really to comment fully about any further information about his future."

The 32-year old's record stands at 28-6 (23ko).
