Matthew Hatton and Van Heerden gets heated

by @gibbosboxing

The final press conference between South Africa’s rising super star Chris Van Heerden and Britain’s Matthew Hatton resulted in an almost early brawl. Both camps had to step in to stop the action, which is sure to hype Saturdays IBO World Title Fight.

Showpony Promotions CEO, Damian Michael has also suggested that the main undercard fight is going to be an absolute cracker with the likes of Kaiser Mabuza taking on former champion Isaac “The Angel” Hlatshwayo, thanking him for taking the fight, Kaiser went on to say he would put him into early retirement.

Light Heavyweight champion, Tshepang Mohale will go face to face with the UK’s Mattie Clarkson which should make for a great fight, as both hitters look conditioned and Clark as tall as Tshepang.
Big Daddy Osborne Machimana comes in 9kg’s lighter and promises to get through Elvis Moyo in order to get his SA Heavyweight Title belt back.

Asked about Thabiso Mchunu, Mr Michael went on to say that there isn’t a Cruiserweight in the world at this moment, with his talent, timing and character.

The final weigh in will be in Sandton, Friday 1 March at 12pm and extra security is expected to keep Hatton and Van Heerden apart.
