Hearn: I want to make Degale vs Groves 2

Hearn with Groves promoter Kalle Sauerland

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that George Groves should abandon ideas about fighting Anthony Dirrell in America for the WBC title, because he will likely lose - and that a rematch in the UK against arch rival James Degale makes much more commercial sense for him.

"The money available for that fight, the interest available for that fight and the fact that it could be made for a (world) belt, it has to happen." said Hearn

"The only thing that is going to stop it is the egos and the relationship between the fighters and the families.

"It would be for about six times the money (in relation to) George Groves travelling to America to fight Dirrell - and he's gonna get beat.

"You'd have to say on his last couple of performances that he is going to get beaten by Dirrell. He ain't going to get great money. He is on a 25 / 75 split or whatever.

"I like George Groves, he is always in good fights and has become one of the biggest stars in British boxing - but why not just make Degale vs Groves? It would be massive."

The promoter believes that Froch will likely vacate one of his titles as he chases his dream Vegas outing, which potentially could release the belt for a possible late February or March rematch.
