Froch wins British Fighter of the year

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) held their Annual Awards Dinner in London this past weekend and named Carl Froch as "Fighter of the Year" amongst a packed audience of current and former boxing stars such as David Haye.

The unbeaten Nottingham super middleweight also collected a seperate award for "Fight of the Year" for his epic battle with Jean Pascal for the WBC super middleweight title.

Freddie Roach accepted an award for Amir Khan for his contribution to Commonwealth boxing. The Bolton Olympian is currently in training for this Saturday's WBA light welterweight title defence against American / Ukranian Dimitri Salita.

The award dates run mid year to mid year, so Haye's tremendous trip to Germany will be in the running for next year's awards.
