Pascal retains title in thriller: Dislocates shoulder

WBC Light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (25-1, 16ko) retained his title against former holder Adrian 'the Shark' Diaconu (26-1, 15ko) last night in a thrilling fight at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada last night.

Winning the fight via unanimous decision with scores of 111-117, 111-117 and 110-118, Pascal showed guts as he dislocated his shoulder and cried in pain just as the bell rung for the end of the 10th round.

Working through the agony, Pascal used his left jab to get through the remaining rounds, but still managed to muster the strength to throw the right hand occaisionally, finishing the final seconds of the fight with a two handed flurry to the delight of the crowd in attendance.

The WBC have ordered the winner to defend against Chad Dawson next, in what would be a thrilling fight.
