11.01.08 Lucian Bute v William Joppy 29 Feb

Current 168lb champion Lucian Bute is rumoured to be facing William Joppy in his next defence of the title.

William Joppy who won a close decision over Howard Eastman whilst at his peak, has been beaten by several fighters at middleweight including Bernard Hopkins and Tito Trinidad.

Recently Joppy has been campaigning at 175lb against poor opposition like 32-27-2 Ettiene Whitaker.

This fight must surely be simply a stay busy fight for Bute - and will not provide a learning curve for the skilled Romanian.
