16.02.08 De La Hoya vs Forbes set for May 3rd

Minor details surrounding the catchweight fight of 150lb between Oscar De La Hoya and Steve Forbes have been reported to be now finalised.

The venue is anticipated to be at the 'Home Depot Centre' in Carson, CA.

Steve Forbes, who has fought as low as 127lbs in his career has recently been fighting at the light-welter limit of 140lb, but did fight a couple of times at 150lb against opponents such as Cornelius Bundrage during The Contender series.

Forbes, whom many believed defeated Dmetrius Hopkins in their fight in March of 2007, but lost on points, is known as a slick boxer but does lack any serious punching power at the higher weights.
